- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
- If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Divide the batter evenly into the muffin liners.
- Prepare the crumble topping by mixing together flour, sugar, and butter, then sprinkle it over the muffins.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
