  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
  6. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
  7. Divide the batter evenly into the muffin liners.
  8. Prepare the crumble topping by mixing together flour, sugar, and butter, then sprinkle it over the muffins.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool before serving.
