- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
- Add the cooked macaroni and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
