Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, milk, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into greased cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool completely.
  7. For the frosting, beat together softened butter, honey, and vanilla until creamy.
  8. Spread the frosting between the cake layers and on top of the cake.
