Classic Lasagna Recipe with Ricotta Cheese

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
