Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam or chocolate ganache, for filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  5. Make an indentation in the center of each ball with your thumb.
  6. Fill each indentation with jam or ganache.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, then let cool on a wire rack.
