- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, butter, egg, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and spread melted butter, followed by cinnamon and chocolate chips.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased pan and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and cocoa powder with a little water to make icing and drizzle over the rolls before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- You can add nuts or dried fruit if desired.
